DoALL D-6 table feed

One of the many machines I've got to get cleaned up and learn to operate is a D-6, it came out of a knife makers shop, had been sitting for some time (soooo much nastiness in the coolant tank).

The first head scratcher (I think it just needs more time with some kroil) is the "manual table release knob"

The table can simply be pushed side to side right now. The cylinder is disconnected (I can slide it to the extreme left and reconnect so all good there).

From a quick look underneath it seems that just like the manual states the release knob (right side of the apron) needs to pull up which will engage the leadscrew. That bugger does not want to move and I don't want to force it. I have sprayed some deep creep on it since it was on hand, I'll take some kroil from my home shop and give it a shot of that.
Any thoughts? Anything else I should make sure to do (or not do)?

Here she is after some basic mineral spirits cleanup.
Thanks!
Grant
