Hi Everyone, I just joined this site as I am trying to get a B&S model 13 Grinder apart to fix a minor oil leak.

I need to remove what B&S calls the "Table Hand Feed Case", which is the casting about a foot square on the front of the machine.
I'll try to attach pictures.

There were six 1/2 NC cap screws holding it on, but there is still something holding it. I drove in a couple very thin fox wedges but it still seems tight. It might only be dried gasket compound or sticky dowel pins, but I hope to find out for sure and avoid damaging the unit.
I took off the table to check for a screw going in from the back but saw no such screw.

There is also a shaft inside that has to be disconnected, I haven't fiddled with it yet.

Can anyone tell me the secret?

I do have the manual for it that shows the parts, but it doesn't go into repair nor have an exploded diagram.

Thanks for any help.

I got the internal shaft figured out and disconnected, but still no luck with getting the casting to move. The only place left that an attaching screw can be is behind the gear, but I don't see any obvious way of getting the gear off.
Any ideas?

If I remember, you have to take off the cover for the bearing support
on the rear machine where this shaft ultimately extends into.
This big gear is on a shaft where the 2 table drive gears mesh
with the table rack. Then the shaft extends out the rear of the
machine and there is a bearing pack. Take off the cover and there
is a bearing nut with lock tab under there. After the bearing nut
is off, you can pull the big gear and shaft out the front, don't
drop the rack feed gears in the casting. And yes I think there
are screws behind the big gear holding the casting.
Check out my earlier videos, as I pulled all this apart.
My machine is green and S/N 2803 made in I think 1983, a very
late machine, possibly built around the time of the machinists
strike.
