    Thanks John

Same sort of deal for me too ...

Lathes UK does not have what I want and I would NOT deal with him anyway

I have nothing to offer about your machine, but I'm curious what your gripe is with Lathes UK?

I have bought from him a couple of times and always got what I paid for, thought he was quite well regarded on here too...

I've got a number of issues with him going back to the early 90's

I was totally "ripped off" when I bought a watchmakers lathe from him ... I have other issues too as do others in the UK, not quite the glowing person as many would think!

The B Elliott Co is still going ,its now a property developer, still owns the old factory site. However, might be worth the price of a phone call.

I can't help on the surface grinder. I have an Elliott No 5 tool and cutter grinder. I wonder if the spindle taper is the same for these machines. Mine has what seems to be an odd taper of 21.239 degrees. I think I will need to make some wheel bushings since I can't find them.

I did get the manual for mine from your "buddy".
