I used to do a lot of grinding on a CNC mill. The tool was a cylidrical grinding stone and once it got "saturated", its diameter had to be reduced using a diamond in the machine with an up/down movement. I wouldn't call this "sharpening".
What do you call this process in english? Here we call it "diamondize" but I'm not so sure.
