ST SUPERTEC MODEL STP-2A618 SURFACE GRINDER TESTED WORKS GREAT ~USED/ EXCELLENT~ | eBay

Yours may be an 1981 or later machine.

looks like a decent machine.

It does need a wheel guard...make one up of cardboard and tape for design / then make one of steel with having a hinge door at front, and a small shelf that can hold an indicator.

Make a in box on the go direction with a 45* angle downward so grits are diverted down into a catch bucket.

Have a spray can of coolant until you fudge-up a coolant pump and catch bucket..

Does it have balls on the long travel? If so and you can do so easily the ball ways should be cleaned every couple years. Yes call the company and see if you can get a book on it.

But to look more professional and for the sake of that poor lathe's pride get rid of the you know what...

Gosh, I wonder what that was copied from.
Even down to the Z microfeed dial.
One shot oil and fan over spindle motor being the differences but the sight glass on Z still there.
Harig did sell base machines for private label so hmmm but the screw spacing on the front spindle way cover is different from a Harig or Dedtru.

Not to dispute a previous post but the logo at the top and bottom, to me, more resembles a Cherry blossom (Sakura) than a Peony. If so, the Sakura is commonly associated with Japan. The obvious knockoff with a few changes (besides the Vise-grip) also suggest Japan if the build quality is good.
