Tschudin HTG-400 Problem

We have an 1964 Tshudin HTG-400 universal cylindrical grinder.

At the end of the auto cycle the main control lever does not trip to end the cycle and retract the wheel head.

I'm thinking that the sparkout timer control my be shot, any one ever dealt with this?

What was the fix?

Yes I did.

The problem on my machine turned out to be a gummed up and stuck hydraulic solenoid.

If you're in the back of the machine it's located under the cover on the upper right hand side.

I just took it apart and found that the spool was stuck. Once I cleaned it so it slid in and out freely all was good.

The spool is in the grey part under the electromagnet.

Also make sure that you attach the solenoid the same way it came off of the steel plate. If I were you I would mark the plate and spool housing so you can put it on with the correct orientation.

I have a 410 and the exact same thing happened to me. Turns out it was a blown 6.3a fuse under the bridge rectifier. Replaced
fuse and everything's fine. Good Luck!
