Lead Screw - slight galling causing manufacturing
Hi,
I've had a few issues with galling which has caused the lead screw to loose its effectiveness.
The machined parts haven't been to spec. Can someone recommend a reliable lead screw brand?

What type/brand of machine are you running? Is the lead screw you have just an ACME or Trapezoidal screw or is it a ballscrew?

Its a trapezoidal lead screw in a lathe machine.

What makes you think the problem is from the lead screw? Other factors can cause problems like cutting tool geometry. feeds and speeds, part or tool ridegitey, spindle bearings, other.

A little thrown off as this thread is in "Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing" but nonetheless I agree with digger doug as pictures of what you are describing would be helpful.

A printer goes many ways/travel direction..mostly a lathe goes/travels one way so after slack is taken up it should ride smooth.
