Hi
I have just come across this machine called an Air Aid.

I wonder if anyone has any idea what it is? I suspect it was made in Australia.
Thanks

Any chance this is a part from a WWII Anderson shelter?

Posts like this need good descriptive info, like what moves when you manipulate a part. How big is it? What makes you think it's Australian? What does the whole thing look like? That label you show might help, but your photograph is too small to read it.

A Google search found an oxygen inhaler with the Air-Aid name....

Maybe that devise is used to fill the oxygen capsules? It seems unlikely though, it looks a bit crude.

Yes, larger photos please, including the base, would be helpful.

The plate is a plant inventory plate....so no info there.....Looks to me a bit like a brake lining rivetor, with the arm to hold the brake shoe missing....possibly modified to suit some other purpose........before Hawke destroyed the clothing industry in Oz ,there were hundreds of small machines associated with rivetting, clinching, punching, etc.used in little factories for special purposes.
