I got this American Position Grip Vise Corp vise at the same time I got the Cincinnati Tool Grinder. I believe it spent its last few years outside. It said "TOOL-SHOP", "K-20" and "No. 2" on it and I thought that might be a maker and model number but I later realized that it was likely the vise's location. I found a post here on PM by member spaeth that has one that is very similar.

After a nice soak in Evapo-rust, a little scrubbing and some paint, it is ready to go again. I need to add a few ball bearings as while Evapo-rust wasn't able to restore them nicely, it was able to keep me from dropping them. :)

Also, does anyone know what "NGF" is? Is that perhaps "Naval Gun Factory"? I see the Navy anchor and thought maybe the vise lived in the "TOOL-SHOP" on a ship but I think "NGF" isn't a ship.

Can't help with the the initials, I know what NFG stands for but not NGF. LOL. I couldn't help marvel but at the concept. Ingenious! Does it grip well?
