So I came across this great brass and iron dial face, it all mechanical with an iron mount. I'm guessing it used to sit on an old boile in factory. A friend found it in an old mill in Scranton, PA. Anyone ID it?

Thanks,

J

The markings on the face are a little hard to make out, but it appears to be graduated from 0 to 250. My guess is a "rev counter" which could have been connected to an engine shaft thru a clutch or friction wheel and used as a tachometer if the revs were timed.

Are there any other markings, such as manufacturer or patent number?

There's a forum at smokstak.com and I have no doubt the old boys there could tell ya in a blink. I could post your pics there and ask if you like?

Thanks for the ideas. Feel free to share MihiT, there are no markings I can find anywhere. I'm gonna do some research on threshing machines, thanks for the idea.
