2A vs 2AB Collets

Hi All, Still looking for 2AB collets for the Elgin, E-bull has some 2A collets, they seem to have the trheads on the outside drawbar end as opposed to the internal ones on the 2AB's, there is no scale ref, would these work if I tapped them? Ken

Ken, go to www.HardingeTooling.com and use their site search function. Type in the collet number. When the collet list comes up click on any of them. This will bring up info on that collet including a link to the dimensions. From what I see, A #2 collet and a #2AB collet aren't even close in there physical dimensions. Steve

Steve, thanks for the URL, Have added it to my research list. Yes, waaaay off! Guess I'm getting frustrated, grasping @ straws. The Elgin is so sweet, maybe I'm finding out why. Ken

I have a 1/2" 2AB Hardinge brand collet. Are you still looking for them?
