Have the two pieces? Measure them up, allow for any distortion at break and make your own drawing

Wacky,

Welcome to the forum. I have a "wacky" question..can't you machine a new one using the old one as a sample..almost better than a print in my estimation.:)

"Reverse engineering."

Been done in America since the days of the Connecticut Brass Clockmakers.

Done today extensively in Pacific Rim countries. Not so much here now.

There are those in this world who would need plans
to make a c-clamp. I see it all the time and it
truly makes me wonder why they are into metalworking
anyways. I guess I should put that into the hat of
all the other things that I do not understand.
But giving the fellow the benefit of the doubt,
maybe the shaft in question has a spline or a
integral pinion that is otherwise difficult to measure.
Hence the request.
