Can someone identify this milling head ( possibly Burke)

I came across this in buddy's garage today, in a pile of stuff for a lathe. Looks like a vertical milling head to me.

ID plate says "United States Machine Tool co"

Can someone identify it??

Seems to be related to Burke (U. S. Burke).

The 1941? price list says the No. 1 hand miller was standard with No. 9 B&S spindle, or could have a No. 10 B&S spindle at extra cost.

Yeah, it's a Burke vertical milling head. Usually goes to a #3 or #4 mill. Worth a lot to Burke mill owners. The last one I saw sell on ebay went for $175 and that was the cheapest I've seen in years. That arbor with it is probably a B&S #9. Some I've seen have had a 3C spindle taper and some have had a B&S 7 taper.

They don't leave much daylight on a #4, what with the drive picking-up off the Horizontal spindle and the mill already starved.

Some would prefer an independently-powered Porter-Cable or such, higher mounted.

There are "projects" published on both, PM and elsewhere.
