Looking for year was made and any others details . Must not have asked the right question in the search.it was worked but now it’s in Florida, taking up space and working very little :D but the old hendy and it should play nice together in the shop :D

Well after typing in slide head drill press found out all kinds of info and some pictures. From what I’ve read it had been made before Cincinnati Bickel. Just Cincinnati on the column and the Brown & Zortman dealer tag.everything works upper drive shaft and shift dog(for lack of a better word)seem to be tight/no play (will see how it is after a cleaning)the auto feed needs some work end play on shafts. The brass worm gear is worn along with the steel pinion drive. Turning it by hand with the belt found out,you can engage the back gear and pull the handle forward and it is direct drive off the belt push the handle all the way back and you’er In back gear. The fun part is figuring out what everything is and how it works, then clean it grease/oil it and start making some holes.thats all for tonite.after more reading the proper name is upright drill,or super service upright drill.you make the call:D. 1st dumb question.i see numbers like 21inch,27inch??? Is that measurement from the face of the column(where the head slides) to the center of the quill ? If so it is 11 inches that would make it 22inch upright drill.or did they make/call it 21 so you would not damage the face of the column?

Nice drill press. I may have a close relative to yours. Mine appears in decent shape but never got to it. Then I went through a radial drill press which I have no use for so this one is surplus but have not tried to sell it yet. The green one is replacing the large camelback. I need the room. Sorry for the cluttered pictures but that is why it needs a new home. Nice to see the pics of yours. Keep us posted on your progress. I am going to hate to see mine go, They are really cool machines, just make sure to clamp you work, lots of torque in these things.
Regards, John.
