Hello. I finally moved my devlieg inside after several months.
On inspection the drawback has a striped thread or snapped off as I believe it had been converted to metric to use bt tooling.

Has anyone done one and is it a complete expensive pita.
I’m not adverse to just having a manual drawbar for the amount of changes I’d be doing.

Unfortunately price of scrap is zero and I spent too much money moving it etc etc
Thanks

My understanding is it's not to big of job. You unbolt/split the drawbar and motor assembly from the head and slide the motor back on the rails to access the drawbar.

Do you have books? I have USA books, I doubt if Herbert is significantly different.

These directions are from a K series.

Attaching some cartoons of 2,3 & 4B spindles & drawbar. I removed one once that had been welded & re-threaded and have no idea how long it lasted but I had used it that way for a couple of years before it went tits-up.

Good luck,
Matt

They usually last a long time like that, as long as you clean the taper out it's going to probably last a solid 10 or 20 years
