Hi guys, I'm new to this site, and hoping for a little help. I recently picked up this lathe and was hoping someone could tell me who manufactured it. Thanks in advance.IMG_4266.jpgIMG_4267.jpgIMG_4268.jpg

Lodge & Shipley

They started in 1893

Your isn't as old as that - maybe 1905.

Here is the 1905 catalog

Thanks to Greg Menke for hosting that for me.

Here is what passed for a "manual" as of 1921

ON EDIT:

Here is a view of the early "closed tail" bed - later the "cross tie" would be gone. On these old beds serial is sometimes stamped on the "cross tie" - other wise it is stamped in between the two rear vee ways. (Incidentally, the 4th vee - on left of tail stock here - would give way to a FLAT way)
