I stumbled across this ad for an early 1900s (?) Monarch lathe. Apparently the owner knows something about the scarcity of old lathes and their ensuing value. Maybe I should see if they'll sell my 1910 Hendey for me and then I can buy 40 or 50 more.
1906 Monarch Metal Lathe $ 22,000 $ for Sale in Coalinga, CA - OfferUp

"Used (normal wear)
$$ 22,000 $$ Is our price . It's been about a month of researching this a little and can not find one like it ( what you call a Diamond in the Rough) which is what any collector is wanting. I watched a 1923 Monarch lathe bid on Ebay go to 32 thousand when ended last week. I cant sell on ebay yet for that much. We are in a time crunch and need everything gone. I can deliver it at additional cost. It will be loaded onto a trailer and ready to go. Ill sell the trailer as well if needed. You could even fly down, rent a uhaul pickup truck and drive it home. Contact me for more info $$ 22,000 $$ obo"
