I got an older Ettco tapping head at auction with some other items, a number 1-B. I've never used one of these - as much as anything I'll show the 13 year old grandson who likes working with me how it works, etc. It's old enough to have been built at their old Brooklyn, NY factory so is pre 1964 with a patent listed on the tag that has a 1935 date.
In searching around I see the company that ended up buying them out, some catalogs over on Vintage Machinery, etc. But no real instruction sheet or spec sheet on line that I found. This model uses an oil bath. I imagine most any light oil would work in it. But any advice or things to watch out for? The education of this old guy continues.
