there was a time in industrial evolution when pace and cadence of mechanical systems more closely matched human systems and sensibility

with british canal industrial transport a premier example

Fellows, Morton & Clayton emerged as largest canal transport company--in 1850's weight of iron castings portaged between Birmingham and London scaling 13,000 tons/year

although the firm went into administration post WWII--6 of its canal boats continue commercial commodity transport

Spent 10 days on the Worshiper Ring with my friend Tom Lewis and others
Tom is Folk singer Tom Lewis | Welcome tom preformed at festivals and we had a few pub sings along the way Tom did 20 yr in the Royal Navey 10 of it in subs. Now at 73 still preforms at Festivalsin England Europe
I last saw him in Mystic Sea Port
lucky for me the trip was timed with the Cannal Boat festival in Manchester
And I spent a day there.
We had a few adventures along the way from getting out lines cut at night
To having a break down I had a “ boiler Suit” with me so was able to get it going with tools and spares on hand. ( just a fan belt) I was jumping boat to boat in Dutch Harbor Alaska one week the next crawling ove a aEnglish Cannel boat....Always somthing...
