Looking to part ways with my Atlantic works band saw. 36" behind the blade 12.5" maximum cut thickness. 40" wheels. Table size is 42 x 34 and tilts about 20 to 30 degrees. Originally owned by Harris Corliss Engine works of Providence RI. Included with new 5 HP Baldor motor. To me, that's a beautiful piece of 19th C machinery. Wouldn't surprise me if its design goes back to the Civil War era. I'd call it a shipsaw, and it is interesting that it found its way to Corliss, which I associate with metalworking rather than woodworking. Perhaps Corliss used it for sawing beams used in erection.

The Band saw has found a new home.

My guess is when the machine was at Harris Corliss it would have been in the pattern making shop.
