Early homecraft drill press. I think the unique base was so it could be mounted to certain models of homecraft table saws.

It was missing the proper motor mount, original motor, and rear step pulley when I got it, so I've decided to part it out, rather than restore.

I'll sell whatever can be shipped easily.

Spindle appears to be in good condition

Quill clamp with depth stop

Nice table, surface rust but no damage

Good step pulley

Good quill handle/pinion

Nice cast belt shield

Most items will ship usps priority mail flat rate box.

Steve.

If it is in as good condition as you say why part it out? It looks like a nice little drill press, not an import.
I dont need another drill press.

I'd have to buy a proper motor mount, and step pulley.

It's got a funky base.

It's worth more in parts than as a complete drill press, and it's not complete.

That looks exactly like a unit I saw at a equipment sale last week
I am interested in the belt guard and have sent a private email

The funky base is because it was meant to be mounted to a table saw, and hung upside down when not in use. There was no proper motor mount, it would have had a dual pulley arrangement because it was powered by the saw motor via a long belt.

I have one of those in my to-do pile, nice little dp, I've added a motor mount, just need to modify an old W-T base to fit the smaller column.

It looks like mine is just a bit bigger. Spindle housing OD is 2" and it is 7 1/2" end to end with the spindle sticking out 6 3/4" of the top.
I did notice my pinion shaft is messed up where the spring housing has been rubbing on it so much it is almost cut all the way off. The main part of that is 6 5/8" long with the 1/2" slotted end another 2 5/16", slot is 1 1/2" from end. The gear is 13 teeth and 1 1/4" dia.
Can you look to see if yours is the same? Also what Dia is the spring housing, I forgot to bring mine in to measure.

You might try posting this on Garage Journal, too. Quite a few period/collector guys on there. Guys that remodel their entire garage/shop in art deco style (cabinets, etc.) to match their Cr@psman '50s deco-inspired tool collection.

Sometimes parting a unit out is the best thing as it lets others save their old piece of american machinery
Thanks to Steve I was able to finish the unit I've been working onDSCN0356.jpgDSCN0357.jpg

Wow, it looks great. Didn't realize you had a radial arm version. Glad it's a good fit. Thank you again for your purchase.

Steve W.

13 teeth, 1-1/4" diameter is same.

1/2" also checks out.

See photos for legths.

How much are you asking for the table
I'm thinking I'll mount my crossfeed vice on it and swing it to the back when not needed

If previous poster doesn't want the table (and if you can confirm column hole dimension) I'm interested in the table.

Lucky7
