George Adams was probably one of the biggest retailers of tools & machinery, as well as producing several types of G. Adams lathes they were also solepage2.jpg UK agents for Von Pittler earlier in the century.

This catalogue has 60 pages packed with 'bargains!' Lathes ,chucks, collets etc all priced in pounds shillings & pence

Does anyone own a G Adams lathe? they were similar to Drummond in size etc.G Adams.jpgpage.jpg

FYI ''George Adams died in 1935, with a "closing-down" sale held during the early 1930s and the remains of the enterprise incorporated into Tyzack & Son - well known in the 1930s for their extensive mail-order tool and machinery catalogues. ''

I like the "send extra for postage, we'll return any funds left over" (paraphrase) on the cover. Try that today...

A reproduction of that catalog would be fun to read through.
