Default Harley engine bearing laps (was What is this?)

I got these in an estate sale.
Some type of collect and mandrel I assume, but application unknown.
Previous owner was Harley restorer, perhaps a Harley specific tool?
Were covered in ancient cosmoline, took a lot of soaking to even see them!

Looks like an expanding mandrel to me, though I haven't seen that particular version. Would be used to hold things by their bores for machining. One use would be to machine a pulley (or anything else with a bore).

Think I see an expanding mandrel with auxiliary plugs sliding on the shaft. You could release a part from the mandrel and push in one or two of the ground plugs for some purpose.
