Item on the left looks like it might be handy for grabbing pipe of a certain size, like well casing. You can search the patent number on it on Google - type in "google patent search" to start.

If you do the "Facebook" thing, there are several vintage tool groups on there that are a great asset in trying to identifying odds and ends like these.
yep - did some searching based on this and it seems to be a Stenor type bead breaker.

I think the big bit in pic 2 might ???????? be something to do with fitting cylinder liners in car engines.
