Hi All, looking for some help identifying a spindle pulley.
I picked up a heavily beaten south bend 9 for some tooling and parts. It had v belt pulleys and i thought great and threw them in a box. When i finally got around to doing something with them a year later i realized they were not right for a SB9. Admittedly at the time when i bought the package i didn't know any better. The head stock on the SB9 had been heavily modified. Someone had cut the bearing caps off and made them removable and put tapered roller bearings in it. The spindle had either been turned down/modified or its a spindle from something else. I guess its possible the headstock itself is off of a SB9 clone ? The headstock/spindle is long gone, just the pulley remains.
Its a 4 groove v belt pulley with integral back gear. The gear part is larger than any other pulley i can find online and doesn't have the "rib" separating the pulley grooves from gear. Its solid and not cored out in the middle. The front face has 1 hole for a bull gear. The ID is 1.375" and has internal grooving for oiling.
It clearly came from a lathe, i just cant figure out what. Knowing that the 4 groove v belt pulleys for SB are so pricey i don't want to throw it away and hoping i can sell it to help fund the correct pulley. I also have the countershaft pulley, which is also solid and not "hollowed" like the SB ones.
Any insight ?
