My old write up on their Lead Screw Reverse system - starts at Post #17

Hendey lathe "emergency"!

"TRB" - is Hendey shorthand for Timken Roller Bearing

Hendey lathe No.35168, a 12 x 30, 12 Speed Geared Head model, was part of a very large order placed during
the first week of September 1942 and was scheduled for completion during the third week of May 1943. The
order was placed by the Army Air Corps. A Change Order was issued for the motors, changing from 3HP to 5HP.
The new specifications were: Frame 284, 5HP, 1200RPM, 220Volts, 60Cycles, 3PH. The Clutch Pulley Speed is
600Rpm. There are very few Patterns, Castings and Repair Parts left in inventory for this lathe. All of the
original drawings are still in the files, so parts can be made if required. This is an RS (Raised Swing)
model that will swing 14-1/2 inches over the bed.
