I want to get a tap to clean out those threaded holes. Am I correct to assume that what I need is a 55 degree BSF 3/8-20 tap and not 60 degree imperial one ?Attachment 270193
If it's 3/8 x 20 I'd say it's ''almost certainly'' std 3/8 BSF ........to the point that I'd put money on it (but not much cos I'm a tightwad )

Got the oil for gearbox and headstock changed.
Chucked up a piece of cold rolled and just turned a diameter to see how she runs.
The spindle is so smooth. All the controls are just where you want them making it a very user friendly lathe.
It felt like I've been using the lathe for years instead of minutes.
