Hi folk

I'm presuming 1949 is covered by "Antique".

I've just acquired a Pultra 1590 lathe Circ. 1949 complete with a variety of tooling including some spring collets.

They are made by Crawfords in the UK and are marked 7878. They have buttress threads very similar to the Deckel S20x2.

Can anyone shine any more news on these old collets, particularly the exact spec of the threads.

Many thanks

Hi Mark ... Sadly no help, the Pultra 1590 is nearly twice the size of the Pultra 1750/1770 which the table refers too. The smaller Pultra's are 8 or 10mm, the 1590 uses a 19-20mm collet.

I bought a 1590 this summer. Bit of a (minor) restoration/ tidy up project...but lovely piece of kit! Vintage Tool Restoration
Came with a set of conflex collets (& a space in the tray for 1 other (Morse taper maybe??🙄). Buttress threads are used on the machine (bearing threads, collets), wondering if they're comparable with other 20mm makes ?
