Hello,

I just wanted to share some pictures of my Moore #3 Jig Bore B277. I bought it in June 2019 and I just about have the restoration complete. The machine was not functional when I got it. The down feed speed selector was stuck and upon disassembly I discovered one of the shafts in the down feed gear boxes was bent (twisted).

The entire machine was taken apart and rebuilt, with the exception of the spindle.

I'm curious what kinds of tolerances it holds?

I assume you didn't re-scrape anything.

Phil,

Nothing was re-scraped. I have just started looking into its performance. The table is +/- .0001 over its entire 11 x 18 inches. This surprised me because it looks a bit worn. There is no perceptible tilt on the table. The spindle runout is +/- .0001 which I believe is poor for this machine. The quill has no detectable runout over its full travel.

Once I get some tools I can do some more tests.

Regards,

Brad
