Hello Everyone one.
Recently bought these vice in a blind auction they came with many other items from a company that closed in yorkshire england (they made large valves).
There are extremely heavy around 40/50kg each.
They were mounted to either end of a large work bench.
I’m trying to find out anything about them, name, manufacturer, use. Anything really.
I’ve had many people guessing at what they are but nobody seems to actually know.
Thanks to anyone that can help.
Regards

The second one looks like a tool presetting vise. First one I'm unfamiliar with, some sort of pipe vise maybe, eh? They look to both have the same type of base/rear mechanism. Does that rear lever tighten something or allow the front bits to interchange?

I wonder if they would be used together? Such as for tightening an arbor? The body of them appears to be able to rotate, but that could just be to hold short tool holders at different angles, while when arranges to hold horizontally you could capture both sides of an arbor to avoid bending it when tightening.

Might also be the business ends of some NC machine tool change mechanism?
