The first looks like an adjustable support.
The second looks like it comes off of a bench center or comparator stand. Slides along a T slot and locks in place with the knurled handle.

I agree with Dumpster_diving that the 1st one is an adjustable support. You'd bring it up under a part needing support, like a machinist jack without any leverage or lifting power.
An alternative for the 2nd one would be an attachment for a tool&cutter grinder, also sliding/locking in the grinder's T-slot.

New mystery tool. looks like some kind of horizontal milling support. Can anyone identify it. no maker marks on it. thanks

Off the angle head accessory for a Bridgeport ...goes back to the overarm for horiz milling.
True.... a split adjustable draw-in bushing. You do know how to spoil a joke with facts.
