A new Facebook Marketplace "antique lathe" has appeared. This one in Saugus, MA.

And I'll bring my edited pix (the original is a bit dark) up for reference.
This lathe has been on Craigslist before. His pricing is astronomical for what he has, especially since it appears in a basement location and removal will I expect be strenuous. But hope springs eternal, of course. Fishing for the "big catch" certainly.
But the lathe maker then, and now is the question for me. I'm thinking New Haven Manufacturing, but what leads me to that is the large round opening in the legs and two smaller holes in the stretcher.
The tailstock with the T-handled "pull up clamp" is typical 1860s.
