need info on H.A. Smit lathe

Looking for any info on a HA SMIT metal lathe. looking to purchase it, looks like an atlas. was used in a school which typical means lesser quality. have not looked at it yet, price is 550 with tooling, again not sure what tooling.

So is this a decent lathe, or one i should away from. Not a machinist, but have used metal lathe before. tried to up load pic, but i am blocked on this site for some reason can email you one if you like.

Looks like a South Bend. That's about 100 times better.

It is a South Bend 9" Model C or a clone.

as long as the change gears are there and you can live with changing them it's worth it...I guess.

$550 seems like a great price as long as it's not worn out.

Tooling should include change gears and the half nut...
