First and foremost, I'm as inexperienced as it gets on owning and operating a lathe. I got my hands on a 10" leblond along with the previous owners tooling. I can't seem to figure out what this is.

Handy even with a DRO. If I am making a repeated cut as to a shoulder or multiple parts with a collet stop, once I set the distance using the DRO, then I just turn until the stop. Saves watching the DRO for those last thousands.

Much appreciated. I knew this was the right place for any questions that arise. I'm having to teach myself here so please excuse any ignorance on my part. Next topic for my education is finding out what a DRO is. This forum has anything and everything. I'll do a search. Thanks for the help! I thought my title was to the point seeing as I didn't know what the part was, but it must have been confusing for some. My bad on that one

All right then, how would you have framed the Q.

Should have looked around for 5 minutes before attacking the keyboard, and asked over at one of the hobby forums.

And it is odd how YOU didn't post any advice, nor help the OP in any way, shape or form.

Only criticize others on here.

I'm glad you mentioned the hobby forum. I wasn't sure if this was the ideal section. I'll definitely use the those for this sort of thing

DRO...Digital Read Out. As far as bad subject titles, Guilty. They don't give you a break either.

Ty for the info. For some reason I love antique tools. Not much in the way of digital in my home shop. Nothing better than a quality tool that gets overlooked due to age...and often surface rust. My generation seems to think new is always better. That's fine, more for me lol

Alright, I've got another mystery I could use help solving. All I know is they came from a department of Delco Remy a while back
