OT - Last chance to buy ticket for Denis Foster's 36" Straightedge raffle (Tuckahoe)

We are one week away from the drawing of the winning ticket.
Denis Foster donated the raw casting of one of his 36" Featherweight Straightedge to the Machine Shop Museum of Tuckahoe Steam & Gas Association and we have machined it and are almost done with scraping it at 40 bearing points per square inch.

Here you can find more details on the machining and scraping of the straightedge
, and here you find instructions on how to buy tickets.
This is your chance to get a beautiful and accurate straightedge and to contribute to the up-keeping of a fantastic machine shop museum, where more than a century-old machines are actually used to make chips (and useful parts).

Thanks!

Paolo

We have a winner!

With the last three tickets sold today, we managed to sell half of the total of 150 tickets. Later this evening I have received confirmation that all the PayPal transactions went through. Therefore all the “provisional tickets”, if drawn, would have been legitimate winning tickets. This afternoon, around 2:30 we asked a volunteer at our Rural Life Museum to draw a ticket.

The winning ticket is ticket #012/150, sold to: David Malphrus of Midway, GA.

Congratulations to David!

Paolo

PS As promised, here is some crude footage of the drawing.
