by chance I came across this video

called the owner of the museum--Mr Owen Phairis 4 days ago
had an informative chat

he was most gracious--but alas--was unable to complete a proposed book
"the golden age of the planetarium projector"

for past few years I have searched in vain for planetarium projector machining
videos
Zeiss is the big name in this arena --Zeiss is happy to post pics of finished products lovingly admired
in domed auditorium--but no production pics, vids, or schematics of their projectors

so--if any reader of this thread has more knowledge--please post

Call down to the Miami Planetarium. Back in the early Nineties I made some replacement parts for them for one, I believe. Spent some time there as a kid, too. Had the absolute privilege and pleasure of discussing Astrolabes with Jack Horkheimer during the time I made the parts for them. ( I was doing the math and plans for creating my own Astrolabe from scratch ) Mr. Horkheimer passed a few years back, but there's got to be somebody there that can at the very least point you in some direction. Back then, they were very "hands on" and into the nitty gritty of their trades. Wish I could give you more. Good luck.
