The production of a 25 pounder field gun, 1942

This photo - I really like it - seems to be related to the same subject. The young lady is inspecting some parts on the Pratt & Whitney Electrolimit Gage with Rockwell hardness tester and other equipment in the background.

Years ago,I bought a heap of surplus 25 pdr hubs and spindles with the idea of using them to make trailers.....the parts are unbelievably heavy, seems they must have added weight everywhere as ballast to stabilize the gun firing...never used them, too heavy, and the brakes were too small....often get interested enquiries..until they try to move the hubs.
