What spindle taper would that have? Do all M heads have the same taper?

Nope, it can be a Morse #2 or a Brown and Sharp #7 taper, but I have even seen threads on here where guys modify them to use R8 collets. My personal M head has the Brown and Sharp taper, which sucks cause my wood lathe tail stock is a Morse taper lol

The high speed M head used B3 collets which are similar to R8, only smaller.
