Not surprisingly, the old belts on this thing are coming apart. There are four of them.

1. Is there a particularly good source for them?
2. Do they need to be matched or is it sufficient to just buy four the same length?

And as usual, since i don't know what i don't know, are there any other questions i should be asking that i am not?

BX 90 Goodyear "Matchmakers" on my 700 RPM CW

Picked up as NOS set of four years ago on Ebay no doubt

I like the "X" style (with NOTCHES) - less power consumed bending them around the sheaves

Entirely possible that faster or slower Monarchs would have different lengths (the 90 part of the number)

+ 1 on what John said, ……...and they should be a matched set (though I've come across many that weren't!! ……...and some of the drives showed it )

That said - In shall we say ''the necessity of economy'' (matched sets can be $pendy) Unless you are using every scrap of motor power, it MIGHT be possible to use only say 2 or 3 sheaves.
