Helping the owner sell some equipment.

This is a South Bend 16 inch lathe with an 8 foot bed and a taper attachment. Single tumbler gear box. Three phase. Not under power but the possibility exists to run power to them for testing.

$650

Overhead crane in the building to load.

Located just off of I69 near Wadhams, MI, west of Port Huron.

Thanks John.

The pulleys are mounted behind the lathe on a shop-built frame with a large motor. The owner believes it originally was an overhead-belt driven lathe. Your catalog seems to confirm that possibility.

I think there is a four-jaw chuck there too.

Check out that chip pan running the whole length of machine also. Never saw that on a SB 16. Can't really see what the legs or base is on the head stock side though. Bet some folks in the South Bend section would like to see this machine.

It looks like the picture on page 5 of the PDF in John's post. It also has a gearbox with shifter that is not attached; you can see it in the picture. It is not a Drive-All but similar.

I'd hate to see this get scrapped. It does come with a taper attachment.

How are chances of a good photo of the apron? We could determine if it was N or O series. O has single wall apron, N has double wall

The pan and collet rack and T/A strongly suggest TOOLROOM version

Of course this won't be a 5C size collet

I have already asked for more photos.

What angle would be best for the apron shot?

The collet rack is on the other lathe behind this one. It is a homemade wood thing.

I've got a SB-16 with full length pan, 54 inch bed IIRC 1950's vintage
