Two very early lathes cheap NY CL!!

I thought about offering good money and jumping on them but I do alrwady have two early lathes. I will have to pass also due to lack of storage currently. Sadly.

More pictures.. Lots of familiar features on these two. The one which I am sure is older has a rack drive atrached to the rise and fall carriage.

For comarison this one sold on ebay a long time ago...I am sure someone here will jump on these. If not I will gladly buy one or both if anyone wants to help out even the slightest bit. Please someone else buy them and give them a home so I can't.

I sent the seller a message ... Maybe I can save these lathes? Although from the looks of them that may be a bit of work...we shall see what happens.

I did. You're welcome.

Thank you to George for the leg work in the interim.

The seller told me that a leg robber from another state called him and offered to pay his asking price plus an additional fee if he would take the legs off and scrap the balance of each lathe. Thank fully that did not happen. They are now safe and sound at my machine tool orphanage.

I think I will start a separate thread for each in order to keep them straight while sharing pictures and getting input. Stand by...
