Hi, just in case anyone is interested I took a shine to this little shaper for sale the other day.
The see-through shiny black paint is bad but it sort of covers some green hammerite which I will fix asap. The cross slide is bolted to the bed almost as if modified from a traversing head machine( there are machined ways on front and back of the bed) but there is a raised pad cast into the front of the bed which only extends as far as the cross slide casting so it must have been designed to suit the slide? The vee-belt pulley has been opened out to press onto the smallest step on the cone so should be an easy fix. The flywheel is flat in section allowing clearance for the drive belt onto the smallest step. The slotted plate carrying the feed rod is home-made,I can't see any evidence of the rod being fixed directly to the wheel so presumably it must have been a similar arrangement to this?IMG_20211201_215903_resized_20211201_104244287.jpgIMG_20211201_215842_resized_20211201_104244788.jpgIMG_20211201_215832_resized_20211201_104245306.jpg
I should add for scale the legs are 32" high. Richard.
