Default WHo knows about the old Bridgeport True Trace 3D heads?

I am setting up a new addition to the shop. a 1966 Bridgeport True-Trace. The electrician is done, the new DTE24 fills the tank, I power up the hydraulics, and the fluid sprays out the back of the tracer head at the hole pointed to below. I have been through the manual and there is no diagram of the back of the head but from the side view that I recreated below, you can see the boss that the threaded hole is in. There is also no reference to that hole in the text. Does anyone know what goes in there? I am thinking some kind of test port that should have a plug?

Does it have a tapered thread? If so, may just require a plug. What do you see when looking in to the hole?

A passage that goes deep into the head the length of the boss. I may be thinking a drain for the head?
