I noticed this ad on kijiji this morning for a small 9”x 18” Lathe .
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-power-tool/...he/1433833015?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true
“Wm. M. Preston Galt Ontario . is cast into the headstock so I presume that is who made it.
I have not seen one like this or any literature about them before that I can remember of .
There are many similarities to an older South Bend so there maybe some connection there too.
Maybe some further research will turn up a connection with the Preston lathes mentioned in this thread
https://www.practicalmachinist.com/...athe-info-202633/?highlight=Preston+Machinery.
There are some other mentions of Preston lathes that turned up in a search of this forum .
Perhaps someone who is better at editing pictures than I am could save them here before the ad disappears.
Even better if someone from this forum from southern Ontario could get the lathe and restore it .
Regards,
Jim
