World's oldest micrometer video

I was expecting a film from 1776 from your title. Maybe rewrite the history books to give Ben Franklin credit for inventing film also?
But I was disappointed :(
Yes that has been posted here before , it is still neat to see it again.

I find the film a bit odd, when you consider that the micrometer invention is credited to William Gascoigne who lived near leeds in Yorkshire, UK, and died at the battle of Marston Moor in 1642, many years before Watt, in around 1630 (wiki) Thia one uses the C shaped body, which is more like a modern micrometer, but by this time the micrometer, as a device for making very precise small measurements had existed for nearly 200years. Jean Laurent Palmer was the frenchman who came up with the idea of the C shaped body in 1848, and it is also known that Maudslay had a bench micrometer, nicknamed "The Lord Chancellor" in the early 1800's and Whitworts design was released in 1844, To try to Credit Watt with invention is erronious, even though he may have built this one.
