Worm gear lube?

I’m working on cleaning up my Pratt and Whitney branch lathe. I’m starting to put the cross slide back together. I was wondering if way oil would be ok to use on the work gears. Or should I be looking for a different product. Any help would be appreciated

Worm gears?

? Isn't it just a steel screw passing through a Bronze nut?

Way oil would be fine

Or...do you have a radius cutting attachment instead of a cross slide?

Yes it is. Just not sure of the brass nut I can’t see it. At first it reminded me of a automotive steering box worm gear. But. Now that I look at it it is a screw. It is a cross slide
