WTB 12" dividing head from Hendey or Brown & Sharpe

Sure it will "fit" but what do the 12" inchers weigh ? A LOT and more than a person needs on an universal table. Even a plain table of #2 size. It doesn't have to happen that way. The weight changes the angle and severe wear upon the smaller milling machines.

To be honest I have no idea what a 12" head weighs! And yes, an excessive mass cantilevered way out on the end of the table must result in measurable deformation. If anyone knows what the tables weigh I will place ballast on the table and measure the deflection.

Weights here from 1923 Cincinnati. I would not expect the asked for Dividing Heads to be heavier

The weights shown of course include the related brackets and gearing to drive the Dividing Head
PLUS the tail stock and steady post

I agree. Weight is relative to the attachments and other fixtures. I have a 12" incher with a mounted chuck. It doesn't weigh more than I could lift but not these days. I'd guess closer to 110 lbs.
