taper in one area only

we have esprit 2002. and we are trying to put taper in a die insert in one area only. does any one know how to do this????

we are using a mits wire edm and we are trying to put 1 degree of taper in just one area of a die insert. our cam system is esprit 2002.

Not sure how to do it in Esprit, but you can edit the NC code to adjust taper angle and radius type. I have done this many times.
If you want a conical radius in the corners do nothing. If you want a constant radius from top to bottom, add a G87 at the end of the line before the G02/G03 line. To change the angle add a new line with A** where ** is the new taper angle. This line should be right before the move you want the angle change on. Hope I explained it so you understand. Suggest you try a simple program and play with it on your program check screen.It is all explained in the Mits manuals.
