Hi i have entered in a small concour on a bike building forum. I think we are at least 10 guy entered in that. The winner will be the one that have build the best looking bike. And i want to show yo the everyday progress on htis bike. I hope you wll like it.

Here is a full scale scetch of the bike.

It will be 8ft long. The seat will be aprox 24" hight. The rear suspension will be a vertical mounted leaf spring.

Tomorow i have roughly cut and bend the tubes. i still have to notch it to the right lenght.

I dont think i will be able to post more progress pics until sunday nigth.

Will the bike be comfortable for riding or is it just for show, how will the saddle height be adjusted.

Yes its very rideable, its comfortable for short ride. The seat height is not ajustable i make it to a specified lenght(botom bracket to seat) (handle bar to seat) for me or for the client.

Tonight i have nothed the tubes to the right lenght, and i weld it.

Now i have to do some enginering for the suspension pivot and the chain line.

yes i do the welding with my small 110v fluxcore welder. The competion is july 29.

Hey X.bike,

I was woundering if you have thought about a shock absorber for the leaf springs... Leaf springs only might give a bouncy ride. If it is a show bike only no big deal. Kep the photos and updates comming.

yeah i know this site it have some nice bike.

The leaf spring will be so short (8 inch long and 4 or 5 leaf of 1.75inche wide) and so stiff that i dont think it will be to springy. Of course it will bounce a bit but i will be rideable.

jkeyser14 im done with school, i had finish my ASP in mold making one year ago.

yeah im just back from vacation. and i got the wheel that i was waiting for from a few week.

im the only one in quebec to have a wheel like that.

tonight i have done a bit of progress
i made the suspention pivot who will also be a jack shaft for the chain.

next step will be to build an houssing for clamping the leaf spring.

I finaly had the time to do an other bit of progress on the bike. I cut the leaf spring to the right lenght and made the bracket to hold the leafs.
