Here's the latest on Frank; he is a truly gifted and generous man that has always been a great inspiration to all who know him.

Let us all pray that life becomes easier for him and Joyce, his faithful caregiver.

Dear Bill,

Frank's health is declining. But considering that he is now 88 years
old, that he has had Parkinson's for 13 years and cancer for 10, and
that he has had a series of small strokes, we have to thank God that he
is able to leave the house with me almost every day. We go for a ride
and have a little lunch out. That is his one pleasure in life. He
started having momentary blackouts some months ago, and fell twice with
injuries. Once he hit his head on the edge of the sidewalk and ended up
with not only a nasty gash but arterial bleeding. Blood was shooting 10
feet! So off to Emergency we went. He had 27 staples to close the
wound after they got the bleeding stopped. Another time, he fell hard
on his side, was unconscious for a longer time, broke 3 ribs, had great
bleeding from his kidney which was bruised but thank God did not rupture.

His Parkinson's is harder to control because he does not tolerate as
much medication as he used to take. But by taking it more often, we
keep it reasonably stable. He was taking Plavix to reduce strokes, but
they caused more bleeding from the kidney, so that had to be discontinued.

He is up and around most days, although just getting up from his lift
chair is a challenge. Yet, once in a while, he still gets a strong
desire to work in his workshop. I dare not let him be down there alone,
for fear he'll fall on the cement floor. So when he wants to work on a
project, I go down and help him. Through the years, I'm sure he has
made (and mostly given away) at least a hundred clocks. I wish I"d kept
a log of them all. People tell us how they still enjoy their clock, and
I'd forgotten that they received one. He has always loved doing things
for others, and giving gifts to others.

I hope you and MarSue are doing well.

God bless you,
Joyce
